International CCS Research Centre’s Networking Event hosted by CATO, NCCS and UKCCSRC
Please join us for an evening of networking with the CCS community from across the globe on Monday 21st October, following the first day of presentations at the IEAGHG’s GHGT-17 conference.
Our venue is less than 5 minutes walk from TELUS Convention Centre Calgary (conference venue) – the exact location will be emailed out closer to the date.
We are looking forward to connecting with both familiar and new faces in person, so please register and we will see you in Calgary.

Join Peter Findlay, Director and Head of CCUS Economics Research and other top CCUS experts on 21st October, at 6pm MT, as they delve into the project level and macroeconomic drivers governing CCUS growth.
Agenda:
- Decarbonising is still not profitable for the vast majority of global heavy industrial emitters. How do compliance and voluntary pricing mechanisms stack and what is needed to spur CCUS across global geographies?
- Are carbon pricing schemes for CCUS actually ‘investible’ at billion-dollar scale? What else is stymieing proponent projects from reaching final investment decision (FID)?
- What will it take for real costs to meaningfully come down across capture, transport and storage? Is this happening?
- Is the ‘hands-on’ and selective minimum return model for CCUS in the UK more effective at propelling CCUS growth than the ‘hands-off’ and simpler 45Q in the US?

Women in CCUS Networking Reception
An unofficial GHGT side event hosted by CarbStrat, IOM Law, and ARI
Women make up an important part of the CCUS community. They lead project development, conduct storage resource assessments, develop capture technologies, and much more. Women connecting with other women in CCUS can only help our industry grow.
In this spirit, CarbStrat, IOM Law, and ARI are hosting a Women in CCUS networking reception on Thursday October 24th. The reception will take place at Salt and Brick Calgary after the final day of GHGT-17 presentations.
To encourage those who register to attend, tickets have a nominal fee. All ticket proceeds go directly towards the drinks and nibbles served at the event. If the ticket price presents a hardship, please contact the organizers using the contact the organizers button.

Please note, this inclusive event is for women or anyone who identifies as such in a significant way. If you are a woman in CCUS but not attending the conference you are still welcome to register and join us.
