Essential Presenter Information

Congratulations on being selected to present at the 18th Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies Conference (GHGT-18).

Whether you are delivering an oral presentation or presenting an e-poster/lightning talk, this is an opportunity to share your work with leading experts from across the global Carbon Capture and Storage community.

To help ensure everything runs smoothly, please read the guidance below along with the two supporting documents linked at the end of this page. Following the templates and instructions provided will help you prepare your presentation and paper and contribute to a successful conference experience for both you and your audience.

Please note: This information is intended only for authors with accepted oral presentations or e-poster/lightning talks. The call for submissions closed on 19 January 2026, and we are unable to accept any new submissions.

Author and Presenter Conference Paper Requirements

GHGT Full Paper Guidelines

• All authors who have been accepted for either an oral or e-poster/lightning talk presentation are required to prepare a full paper based on the work they will present.
• Following the conference, and subject to confirmation that the work was presented, accepted papers will be published in the GHGT-18 Conference Proceedings, hosted by ScienceOpen.
• Please use the Full Paper Template and follow the accompanying guidelines. Papers should be a minimum of 4 pages and a maximum of 12 pages, including references, figures, and tables.
• ScienceOpen is a freely-available Search & Discovery platform containing more than 108 million records including journal articles, books, chapters, Conference papers, posters, abstracts, Datasets and more. They offer services to Publishers of all types, ranging from Discovery services to increase impact, citations, visibility and submissions, Preprint server, Open Access Hosting, Best Practice Metadata, to full end-to-end publishing workflows for Open Access Journals and Conferences. With their built-in community tools, registered users can interact with the content with post publication peer reviews, comments, shares etc and find potential collaborators for research ideas.

Important Deadlines

• You do not need to submit your full paper before the conference. However, the paper should be completed and ready for submission after the conference once presentation attendance has been confirmed.
• Only work that is presented at GHGT-18 will be eligible for publication in the conference proceedings.
• Please use the presentation template provided to format your presentation materials.
• All presenters must complete their conference registration by 8 September 2026 to ensure inclusion in the conference programme.

Changes to Titles or Authors

• Any changes to presentation titles or author lists must be submitted by email no later than 30 August 2026. Please send any updates to: events@ieaghg.org. This will ensure the correct information appears in the conference programme and mobile app.

Oral Presentations

• Please review the presentation guidelines when preparing your PowerPoint slides.
• PowerPoint files do not need to be submitted before the conference. Presenters will need to upload their presentation in the Speaker Upload Room, (exact location TBC).
• Please allow sufficient time to upload your presentation before your session (a minimum of 24 hours).
• All oral presenters have already been informed of their session allocation. Session details can also be found on the Programme Agenda page.
• Each oral presentation is allocated a 20-minute time slot, which includes 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers. To keep sessions running on schedule, presentation times cannot be extended.

E-Poster Presentations

• Authors accepted for e-poster / lightning talks were contacted by Kubify, the provider of the Learning Toolbox e-poster platform, in early June. Invitations were sent to create e-poster stacks within Learning Toolbox, and webinar training sessions were held on 22 June.
• Additional support is available through the GHGT e-Poster Support Page, which includes:
  • Information about how e-posters/lightning talks will operate at GHGT-18
  • A short video demonstrating how to create an e-poster stack
  • Webinar recordings
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Helpdesk contact information
• The e-poster / lightning talks sessions will take place on Tuesday 27 October and Wednesday 28 October.

• Authors will receive further information closer to the conference, including the date, time, and location of their assigned e-poster / lightning talk station.
