The GHGT Conference celebrates excellence in CCUS through two distinguished awards. First, the prestigious Green Award honours a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the CCUS sector. Since GHGT-17, the Student Award has recognised the student who presents the best poster at the conference.

The Green Award

Since it’s inception in 1996, the Green Award has become the most prestigious honour given by the GHGT Conference Series, recognising people who have made outstanding, long-term contributions to carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) research, technology, and deployment. Often described within the sector as the “Nobel Prize” of CCUS due to the award’s high esteem, only a select group has been honoured for their sustained leadership and innovation in advancing greenhouse gas mitigation technologies.

The Student Poster Award

First awarded at GHGT-17, the Student Poster Award recognises outstanding research presented by a student at the conference that shows excellence in scientific quality, innovation, and clarity of communication. The award celebrates emerging talent in the CCUS community and encourages the next generation of researchers advancing carbon capture, utilisation, and storage.
