Registration for the 17th Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies Conference (GHGT-17) is now open! GHGT-17 is the premier international conference on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). The GHGT conference series is at the forefront of advancing low-carbon solutions to combat climate change. GHGT-17 will be hosted in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in October 2024.
This years conference will be the biggest GHGT yet. We are expecting over 1500 delegates from across the world to see 355 presentations, 500+ e-posters, keynote and technical plenary talks and new to the GHGT series a dedicated business stream. The GHGT conferences educate, inspire, and forge the foundations of international partnerships that accelerate development of CCUS technologies on a commercial scale — globally. All presenters (oral and e-poster) will be required to register before the conference if their work has been selected.
VISAS
All delegates who require a visa to enter Canada are advised to obtain and submit an official Letter of Invitation from the conference organizers to help facilitate the immigration process. Please note that Letters of Invitation are only issued to registered and paid/approved delegates. It is recommended you start the visa application process as early as possible. Processing times may vary by country. Find out if you require a visa to travel to Canada.

Hotel booking details
Calgary is a popular destination for conferences in October and we are already aware of at least 5 events taking place at the same time as GHGT-17, this means hotels can increase their prices if not pre-booked. To ensure the GHGT-17 delegates have hotel accommodation for the GHGT-17 conference, we have blocked and contracted rooms in 4 various price range hotels in close proximity to the convention centre.
This means we can guarantee you a fixed lower rate for your stay and ensure availability if booked early. All prices and booking conditions of the 4 hotels for GHGT-17 are in Canadian dollars. Once booked should you need to make any changes or a date you require is showing as sold out please email ghgt17-registration@venuewest.com
These rates are not available if you try to book directly with the hotel or via your inhouse travel departments. Please ensure you complete your hotel booking requirements when registering.
GHGT-17 Social Events
Welcome Reception
Registration fees include optional attendance to the Welcome reception taking place on Sunday 20th October 6-8pm. Drinks and canapes are included and are available to accompanying guests provided that their details have been registered. Space is limited and is offered on a first come first serve basis. Please ensure you click option if you would like to attend whilst booking.
Student Reception
The student reception will take place on Tuesday 22nd October 6-8 pm and is included to all registered students and IEAGHG summer school alumni, please ensure you click the option to attend in registration.
Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday 23rd October 7.30-11pm. Space is limited and offered on first come first served basis to all delegates and accompanying persons. The dinner includes travel to and from the convention centre to the venue, drinks, food, and entertainment. Please note there is a separate fee for the dinner of CA$100 including taxes per person to attend the dinner, please ensure you click the option to attend on the registration so that the cost is added to your booking.
